Asset Information : R001-04926

Newhaven shed on 12th July 1947. IN pride of place is No.2037 Selsey Bill, one of the classic Marsh LBSCR, H1 Class 4-4-2 Atlantics. This shed had several LBCSR Atlantics allocated for working the boat trains from London Victoria to connect with the Newhaven to Dieppe sailings.A later, sister engine stands in the centre in the form of H2 Class No.2423, The Needles. The resemblance between these engines and those of Ivatt on the GNR is striking. ON the left is former LBSCR Billington E4 Class 0-6-2 No.2508.
